The G7 Summit held from May 19 to 21, has concluded and the outcome documents have been released. We Checked the main domument G7 Hiroshima Leaders' Communiqué and shared forest-related issues as a result.

Reporting on progress towards the implementation of the United Nations strategic plan for forests 2017–2030 – Analysing Voluntary National Report from Japan(May 15, 2020)

The agreement on "United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests 2017-2030" was forged in 2017. According to it Member States are invited to submit their reports bymid November 2019. Japan's report was submitted and included in the related webpage.

Forest Agenda in the World Economic Forum (Davos Conference) (Feb. 2, 2020)

It was reported that US President Trump, who attended the General Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (Davos Conference) on January 21, announced his support in a forest conservation project in his remarks.

Relevance of forests in UN Summit's "the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development"(Jan. 16, 2016)

During United Nations Sustainable Development Summit 2015, which was held on 25-27 September 2015 at UN Headquarter in New York, the General assembly adopted the "Transforming Our World: 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" . It shows the direction of global common development and growth for next 15 years, consisted of 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets.

CBD/UNFF Workshop on forest and biological diversity, Accra, Ghana (February 11, 2002)

I had a chance to attend this workshop held in Accra, Ghana, from 28 to 30 January. The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is preparing to formulate "Program of Work on forest biological diversity" at its COP6 to be held in this April, in Hargue.
