Presently, two forest managements
in Japan, covering over 3300 ha have been certified under FSC system.
First runner is Hayami Forest in Mie Prefecture, whose 1000 ha man-made
forest was certified by SCS
in February 2000.
2200 ha forests managed by Yusuhara Forest Owners' Cooperative were certified
under group certification by Smart
wood in October 2000.
