Woodmiles Forum, which began operations in 2003 and established itself as a general incorporated association in 2014.

With the keyword "distance from the place of production to the place of use", the Woodmiles Forum has been engaged in the following activities, aiming to expand understanding of the environmental performance of timber, especially local timber, as a key player in a recycling-oriented society.

(1) Development of Woodmiles-related indicators and tools
(2) Research, study, and development of methods for sustainable use of local wood resources
　　Research, studies, and development
(3) Promotion, support, and certification projects related to the practice of sustainable use of local wood resources
　　(3) Dissemination, support, and certification projects related to the practice of sustainable use of local wood resources
(4) Exchange and collaboration with other related domestic and international organizations
(5) Other matters necessary to achieve the objectives of the Organization.

At the 15th World Forestry Congress to be held in early May in Seoul, Woodmiles Forum President Fujiwara will present a document titled Possibility of local wood from a global perspective. He will present a paper titled "Possibility of local wood from a global perspective" and introduce Woodmiles Forum's activities.
